First EVS in town - Kate Klimenko
Hello!
Now that I’ve already been in Cesca Lipa as EVS Volunteer for over a month I can tell you: it is a challenge, but a very rewarding one!
One of the activities that we regularly do as EVS volunteers is having conversation classes in English with students from different schools: Klíč Klášterní, Klíš Lada, Partyzánská and Šluknovská.
All lessons are always unique because every one of the classes is different. I enjoy this activity, as it’s a way to get in touch with local young people and as it gives me the opportunity to practise English language.
Topic of our fist activity was about getting to know each other by asking questions and telling something interesting about yourself. The kids are very friendly and same of the students were happy that they could meet foreigners and share their thoughts. For us it is important that students can feel comfortable in our class because in the friendly atmosphere all of us can be more willing to talk about our ideas and opinions.
And soon starts one of the most enjoyable parts of my work - it is preparing the classes, because we have the freedom to choose interesting topics (art, sport, food or different aspects of European culture).
I hope that in the near future we could see measurable results of our work :)
